The applicant shall have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the relevant Aerospace domain. You will be part of the Aircraft CAD design team and will be deeply involved in everything from preliminary concept design to the actual production design. For this role, you need to have a strong understanding of CAD design and the ability to do basic hand calculations to create detailed models. Part of a team member needs to coordinate the CAD team, train the people in live tasks and do QC for final products,distribute the workload equally and update the CAD details to the production manager at the end of any products/ need to be present on the assembly line when there is a critical part manufacturing. Further, you will work closely with multiple disciplines, including Aerodynamics, Structural analysis, Experimental, Motor, Battery, Avionics, Manufacturing and integration teams, etc.
Tech Skills
CAD software (CATIA, Solid Works), CATIA composites workbench, GD&T, DFA, DFM, Jig & Fixture design, 3D printing.
Responsibilities
● Perform detailed CAD design and assembly integration of aircraft subsystems.
● Prepare geometry for CFD simulation and Structural analysis.
● Create 3D CAD geometry and 2D drawings.
● Apply DFM concepts to create designs that are cost-effective and easy to fabricate.
● Perform rigorous material selection based on loading and manufacturing feasibility.
● Support manufacturing to validate and verify that designs meet requirements and specifications.
● Detail design and fabrication instruction writing.
● Direct communication with vendors and technicians in manufacturing.
● Mentoring and Guiding team members to do complex design.
● Should form at least 10 members CAD team within 3 months period of time.
Required Skill Set
● Excellent theoretical background in aerospace structures design.
● Strong Knowledge in GD&T, Stack up Analysis.
● Strong CAD skills in CATIA (preferred), Solid Works (Both Surface and Part modeling)
● Familiarity with PDM systems.
● Experience with the manufacturing of composite parts and tooling design.
● Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
● Experience in CATIA composite workbench for plybook generation and producibility analysis (preferred).
● Good Knowledge in Jig and Fixture design.
● Knowledge of aerospace test standards.
● To be skilled in vendor interaction and get the product OTD.
