The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the assembly and integration of battery systems and wiring harnesses in aircraft platforms. The candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, creating build plans & quality, creating Assembly Work Instructions and supporting production teams during aircraft assembly involving high-voltage systems and complex wiring layouts.
Role & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement manufacturing processes for aircraft battery installation, including enclosure assembly, mounting, thermal management, and electrical interfacing.
Ensure alignment of battery system build processes with design intent, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Work with suppliers and internal teams to validate battery module assembly techniques and tooling.
Create and validate build processes for wiring harness routing, terminations, and connectors.
Define wire routing strategies ensuring safety, serviceability, and compliance with aerospace standards.
Support the creation of harness assembly boards, work instructions, and test procedures.
Provide hands-on support to technicians on the shop floor during prototype and serial production builds.
Troubleshoot wiring and battery integration issues in real time and implement corrective actions.
Drive root cause analysis for non-conformances and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), manufacturing instructions (MIs), and inspection criteria.
Work closely with design, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize build flow and reduce cycle time.
Support DFM/DFA activities during design reviews to ensure manufacturability of electrical systems.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or any related field.
Familiarity with aerospace parts and materials is highly desirable.
Proficiency in MS Office.
